Anti-Bullying Week 2017

Sunday, November 5, 2017

Anti-Bullying Week 2017 is being held between the 13th and 17th November of this year and is organised by Anti-Bullying Alliance.

Anti-Bullying Week shines a spotlight on bullying and encourages all children, teachers and parents to take action against bullying throughout the year. The theme this year is ‘All Different, All Equal’ with the aims:

  • To empower children to celebrate what makes them, and others, unique.

  • To help children understand how important it is that every child feels valued and included in school, able to be themselves, without fear of bullying.
  • To enable teachers and other adults to celebrate what makes us ‘all different, all equal’ and celebrate difference and equality. Encouraging them to take individual and collective action to prevent bullying, creating safe environments where children can be themselves.

As well as promoting all of our values throughout the year Anti-Bullying Week is a great opportunity to reinforce the message about how we can approach bullying. This includes ensuring the pupils know what to do if they are being bullied, how it makes us feel and how we deal with anyone who bullies. Bullying can have a long-term impact on friendships, self-esteem as well as health and wellbeing.

Throughout the week we will be completing many different activities that relate to the theme of this year- ‘All Different, All Equal’.

Magical week at Busy Bees

Friday, November 3, 2017

The children have had such a busy week at Busy Bees.

Thank you for their wonderful costumes – they really made a brilliant effort during the week.

We have to thank Vikki’s mum for the huge pumpkin again this year – the children had such fun scooping it out !

Our potion station was very popular during the week – some lovely magic potions and spells were mixed up.

Porridge oats and water were our favourite.

On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon we had a treat for our transition children when Julie came to teach us some dancing as part of our P.E session and our Dancing Day – we learnt a dance routine for Let It Go and played an exciting game of musical statues.

Thank you very much Julie for coming to dance with us.

And today we had a wonderful surprise visit from some very kind Swallowfield children who decided to give their Buster Dogs to some of the Busy Bees children as part of the Community Smiles Project – thank you very much children , the Busy Bee children were definately smiling when you left 🙂 it was a very kind gesture.

We hope the children have enjoyed their week at Busy Bees .
